Dad

I am extremely discouraged with Dad, it like he has just given up. Everyone seems to be putting forth an effort to help, but everything seems to just suck the life out of him. I wish he would make a choice. I know this may be a choice that I won't like but it will be a choice all the same. In a movie that TBS has made it possible for us to all see The Shawshank Redemption, Morgan Freeman says, "Get busy livin' or get busy dieing." I don't know it all very frustrating to watch a man just quit.

Mom tries hard but dad is stubborn. I am trying to help her as I can I think that she needs to get some sort of land line and quit worrying about the cell phone it costs them way too much.

Keep them in your prayers.

I'm Home!

After less than 24 hours from surgery, I'm back in my own bed. I can hardly believe it myself. There's a lovely spring thunderstorm which makes for a perfect setting for snuggling under the covers--which I can't do because of this neck brace and the inability to lay flat.

I've developed a love for really COLD water as it helps soothe my very sore throat. I tried eating some mashed potatoes this afternoon, but they were just too thick and painful to swallow, so I'll just have to stick with milkshakes and yogurt for now.

So many people have been so kind in their desire to be of assistance. I know the time will come soon when I'll need all of it, but for now, I'm so tired from all the pain killers and muscle relaxers that I just kind of stare at the television (which, I'm happy to say, has more than the 12 channels the hospital TV had--three of which were in Spanish!).

I'm sure I'll write more later, but my eyelids are starting to close again.

With much love and appreciation, J

Good News

I just spoke with Jennifer and she said that they are looking at releasing her this morning at 11 am. She said she had a good night. The only pain she is having is when she gets up and moves around(surprise!). I am going to have her get the full medical diagnosis of the surgery and I will post this for those medical geeks out there.

Again, thank you for your prayers and thoughts, I am sure that these have had a profound effect on her getting out of the hospital so soon.

Jennifer's Recovery

Well, Jennifer is progressing along. She is talking, and asking for pain medication. Her throat is still trying to remember how to swallow. She wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. Especially Cherise, Carma, and Megan for their willingness to help and watch over our kids.

Her she is in all her glory:
